Welcome!
The Conflict Resolution Center is a not for profit community mediation center serving the 25th Judicial District of North Carolina. Our offices are located in Hickory and Morganton.
The mission of The Conflict Resolution Center is to promote respectful communication and effective conflict resolution to the citizens of Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties.
The vision of The Conflict Resolution Center is to be a community center promoting collaborative problem solving, self-empowered conflict resolution, and social justice.
The Conflict Resolution Center will place clients first, provide affordable services to all, remain publicly "neutral", use proven processes, hear all voices equally, exemplify tolerance, remain flexible and questioning, be proactive rather than reactive, encourage and model collaboration, respect confidentiality, seek wisdom from national human and written resources, and incorporate and value the family and community in all that we do. Integrity and transparent management will be an organizational norm.
The Conflict Resolution Center staff and volunteer mediators will use conflict resolution skills to focus on the feelings and the relationships, the issues rather than the personalities, the impact of communication rather than intent, commonalities rather than divisive characteristics, and collaborative problem solving.
